OUR STORY

Jennifer Argenti, Founder and Creative Director

I started Charlotte Brody in 2004 out of my studio apartment after studying art history at Princeton, a 10 year career at Christies and a fashion and couture program at FIT. Eighteen years and two children later I am still doing what I love—dressing my clients in beautiful quality clothing for all facets of their lives.

Charlotte Brody’s goal is to create special pieces and bring artisanal quality back to fashion. We do this by designing our proprietary prints in our New York design studio and offering embroidered and hand painted detailing. We create fashion mindfully by using the highest quality fabrics and sewing small batches in New York City. By not having elaborate fashion shows, renting expensive retails spaces or selling through retail stores we are able to work with the highest caliber artisans and the most beautiful fabrics to and provide clients high quality clothing at a very good value.

Inspired by our namesake and the wardrobe needs of our clients we design pieces perfect for school drop, board room meetings, and black tie events. We offer 2 yearly collections with small capsule drops in between seasons.

Join me in helping dress your friends’, family members and clients in very special pieces so they can experience each day with a bit more style, confidence and excitement.

I hope to have you as a part of my hand selected stylist team.

Jennifer Argenti's beloved Grandmother and muse, Charlotte Brody

Charlotte Brody was a master gardener, international rose judge and my Grandmother. She spent the last 40 years of her life educating people in her community about the importance of organic foods and gardening for a healthier lifestyle. Her dream was to establish a safe place where all children could learn and experience the joys of gardening. The Charlotte Brody Discovery Garden at Duke University features organic vegetable beds, an orchard, fruiting shrubs and vines, outdoor classrooms space and two cisterns that can hold more than 7,000 gallons of rainwater. Amazingly the Charlotte Brody Discovery Garden grows, harvests and donates more than 2,700 pounds of produce each year to local hunger relief organizations.

In addition to spending time in her garden, Charlotte Brody adored travel and collecting exquisite and unique fashion and jewelry. I am forever inspirited by my Grandmother’s style whether in the garden, at a party or on one of her adventures. She was always elegantly dressed with a glint of fun.
